Lawes, Bart.; the High Jump Cup, presented by Sir Claude Ch. de Crespigny, Bart.; the One Hundred and Twenty Yards Hurdles Cup, presented by Lord Southwell; the Half-Mile Cup, presented by Mr. P. M. Thornton, M.P.; the Quarter-Mile Cupp, resented by Mr. K. T. Dig-by, M.P.; the Four Miles Cup, presented by the Earl of Jersey; the Seven Miles Walking Cup, presented by Mr. J. G. Chambers; the Two Miles Steeplechase Cup, presented by Messrs. James and William Waddell; the Ten Miles Cup, presented by Mr. W. M. Chinnery; and the Two Miles Walking Cup, presented by Mr. J. E. Fowler- Dixon. The Paris Exhibition International 5,000 metres Course des Nations Trophy, won by the A.A.A. team in 1900, was placed in the reception room. Amongst the guests, the following previous holders of these Trophies were present: Sir C. B. Lawes (one mile, 1866); Mr. P. M. Thornton (half-mile, 1866); Mr. F. T. Elborough (quarter-mile, 1875-6-7, and half-mile, 1876-7); Mr. M. Shearman (hundred yards, 1876, and quarter-mile 1880); Mr. C. G. Wood (quarter-mile 1886 and 1887); Mr. E. H. Pelling (100 yards, 1889); Mr. Lees Knowles, M.P. (half-mile cup, 1878); Mr. S. K. Holman (half-mile cup,1880); Mr. W. M. Chinnery (one milecup, 1868-9 and 1871, and four miles cup 1868-9) > Mr. H. Venn (seven miles walking - cup, 1876-8-9). It was decided by the Sub-Committee to publish the following" verbatim report of the speeches as a memento of a very pleasant evening, and a reminiscence of one of not the least important events in the history of the governing body Aofmateur Athletics.
