Richard Russell After leaving ITV, Richard Russell became a television consultant and is currently an executive with Fast Track Events where he has led the modernisation of in-stadium event presentation of athletics. Roger Simons Upon the formation of UK Athletics, Roger Simons joined its board of directors with a special interest in competition planning. He was elected to the supervisory Members’ Council in 2009. Ian Stewart Having taken over responsibility for the events department following Andy Norman’s sudden departure, Ian Stewart has continued in this role ever since. He was given responsibility for overseeing the development of Britain’s middle distance talent in 2009. Tony Ward Since parting company with the BAF in early 1997 Tony Ward continued to be a writer and shrewd observer of the athletics scene. He moved to the Lake District with his wife Gwenda. He died in 2010.
