13 The battle for BAF – the first steps matter again. This was held on 23 April and decided that there should be a postal ballot of all the Association’s member clubs on the original motions. The postal votes were in favour, with the upshot that, on 8 November 1983, the Women’s AAA established a working party “ to seek ways and means of establishing a single governing body for athletics in the UK ”. At last, it appeared that the AAA and the Women’s AAA might both be working in the same direction. We shall see.
