The President, after the loyal toasts, said they had received a few messages from all over the world. Their friends from Sweden had sent a cablegram in the following terms: "Our best compliments on the occasion of the A.A.A.'s Jubilee. We pay homage to the oldest Athletic Association, and the creator of amateur athletics in Europe." A cable– gram from Professor Lowden, in Canada, had also been received. The message from the President of the A.A.U. ofAmerica was: " It has given us great pleasure to extend congratulations on the occasion ofyour Jubilee. The A.A.A. has stood firm for the highest ideals of amateurism and good sportsmanship. We of the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States of America greet you and wish you the greatest success in the years 127
