108 OLYMPIC CAVALCADE By the decision of the International- Olympic Committee (Lausanne, 1919) the Celebration of the VIIth Olympiad was allotted to be held at Antwerp in 1920. In the course of his speech, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the Founder of the Modern Olympiads, produced · the following maxims: "Loyalty is the highest quality for a sportsman; self-control is the duty ofevery sportsman; without fair play there is no beauty in sport; spirit ofchivalry is the ennoblingfeature ofsport.
