Olympic Cavalcade

- AMSTERDAM, 1928 163 celebrated in February, 1928, at St. Moritz. U.S.A. took the first two places in the- 4-Man Bobsleigh, and Canada beat Sweden in the Ice Hockey Final. Then Scandinavia came to the fore with Grafstrom, Sweden, winning the Men's Figure Skating, and Sonia Henie, Norway, taking the Womel)'s title. The Pair Skating was wori by a French CG~ple and in the speed skating G. Thunberg, Finland; t6ok titles at 500 and alse> I 500 metres. I Ballangrud, Norway, won the 5ooo metres, and the IO,ooo metres event had to be abandoned owing to thaw. Scandinavians were_again in their element in the Ski-ing events. P. E. Hedlund, Sweden, won at 50 kilometres, J. Grottums– braaten, Norway, took the 18 kilometres and also the Combined ev~nt. His compatriot, A. Anderson, was successful in the Jumping contest.
