As will be seen from the following tables all World's Swimming Records for speed are held by Englishmen, in fact to all intents and purposes by two men, J. H. T YERS (A.) and J. N UTTAIX (P.), while for long distance swimming no one has yet approached the per­ formances of another Englishman, the famous Capt, W EBB. World's Records The following times were made in baths not less than 25 yards long for all distances up to and including 500 yards, above 500 yards in open water over courses not less than no yards in length.
