SCHOOL MATCHES 61 294 runs—the largest number of runs credited to any oneplayer—and had an average of 49. C. W. WRIGHT for Cambridge runs him very close both in aggregateruns andaverage. He played in 1882,1883,1884 and 1885; he had 8 innings (twice not out), made 292 runs, and had an average of 48•66. Among the bowlers, three stand out pre-eminent (2 Cambridge and 1 Oxford). They are C. D. MARSUAM , who played forOxford in 1854, 1855, 1856, 1857 and 1858, A. G. STEEL , who played for Cambridge in 1878, 1879, 1880 and 1881, andS. M. J. YONGE (for Oxford) who took 43 in the 5 years 1844—48, but his average is not recorded. VIII.—SCHOOL MATCHES Eton v. Harrow Present Score. —Harrow 29, Eton 27, Drawn 14, Total 70. The Games in 1805 and 1857 have both been excluded as not belonging to the regular series of matches between the two schools, which began in 1818, N.B.—Eton won in 1805 and Harrow won in 1857. Highest Individual Scores. —ForEton, 152 by E. B AYLEY in 1841 ; for Harrow, 135 by A. K. WATSON in 1885. Centuries scored. —Eton 7, Harrow 5, Total 12.
