BONNOR at Mitcham in May 1880. In practice at Melbourne BONNOR is said to have driven a ball 160 yards. Sensational Scoring C. I. THORNTON playing for Gentlemen v. Players at Brighton in 1871, had only 8 balls bowled to him, off which he scored 34—7 fours and 1 six. Fifteen years later, playing for Gentlemen of England v. I. Zingari at Scarborough in 1886, he scored 107 not out, the innings being made up of 8 sixes, 12 fours, 2 twos and 7 singles. S. M. J. WOODS playing for Somerset v. Sussexat Brighton in June 1895, scored 215 in two hours and a half. All things considered, this is a record in first-class cricket not likely soon to be beaten. E. M. GRACE playing for Thornbury Club in 1873, made 259 in100 minutes out of a total score of 331. S. D. SMITH playing for Marlborough College v. M. C. C. at Marlborough in 1873 mac le44 in 12 minutes.
