HURDLING 131 the hurdler squats with the seat resting upon the other heel, somewhat like the ,position assumed in the National Russian Soldiers' Dance, will be found very beneficial. The athlete taking up this event is asked to study carefully the accompanying photographs and sketches, and to practise the Hurdling Exercises ("Lifting," "Table Stretching," and " Storking ") set forth in the Appendix.
